Shipping FYI!

We just wanted to let everyone out there know, that due to Canada Post doubling the cost of shipping, we have had to do some shipping cost increases ourselves….
For orders under $100, the cost of shipping is $10, orders between $100 and $200 will be $20 shipping, orders over $200 will be shipped free of charge. With respect to wedding photography, the bride and groom’s photos shipping is included in their wedding photography package.

Get Ready Renfrew, We’re MAAD!

(to the tune of The Hole In The Bottom Of The Sea)
There was a town
such a crazy little town
the craziest little town
that you ever did see.

In that town
there were two MAAD photographers
the MAADest photographers
that you ever did see……..

Alex and I recently decided that it was time for a change of pace. During the conversation we had about changing pace, we decided that it might be time for a move…. a relocation if you will.  We decided that we needed to find a town as crazy and MAAD as us.  We thought about many small towns and figured that there was this one little town that I know well that it made sense to take for a “test live”.

For those of you who have never heard of this charming little town, Renfrew (or “the ‘frew” as many locals call it) can be found just about an hour or so north west of Ottawa. I hope to be seeing the following sign often as we would love the chance to travel to our nations capital frequently this year to shoot weddings, engagements, and other events.

Heading to Ottawa! Too close to be considered a road trip, but still good times!

Heading to Ottawa! Too close to be considered a road trip, but still good times! (Wait, there are supposed to be two seasons..... Winter, and Construction... who is messing with my head and combining seasons?!?!?)

On the note of travel… Like in the past, Alex and I look forward to being a part of your special day, no matter where in the province of Ontario you might be located. In the past we have traveled as far as Timmins, Chatham, and Kingston.  We have never charged for traveling and this relocation is not going to change that. Part of the fun is getting to see parts of the province that we might not have traveled to otherwise. We love to travel!

We invite our clients to view and order their photographs online through our secure gallery.  We also invite their friends and family to view photos online too! For example: We live in Renfrew, you live in Halifax, but got married in Toronto.  After the wedding day, it is unlikely that we will see one another again (unfortunately). You log onto our site to view your wedding photographs. Once you have decided on which ones you would like us to print (prints are included in all our wedding packages), we will get them printed then head off to see the friendly ladies at the Renfrew Post Office where we will send you your securely packaged photographs and digital files.  Within a few days your wedding photographs will arrive at your door,  you tear open the packaging and cry tears of happiness when you see them. Then you call your aunt in Vancouver who wasn’t able to make it to the wedding because of the distance and her health.  You remind her that she can log onto our website and view your wedding photos.  Your aunt logs on and has a look. She is thrilled that she is able to live the day through the photos!  She sees one of you and your new spouse and would love a copy for her scrapbook. She is able to order that photo, along with any others she likes, saving you the hastle of finding out which ones she likes (and your mom likes, and your sister, your best friend from high school, your college roomie…..), then making an order including pictures for all 28 people who gave you a list (and maybe even stuck you will the bill and cost of shipping).    Short story made long, we can save you a ton of trouble!!!

Alex and I will be getting to know the ladies at the Post Office.

Over all, the ‘frew is a great little town which seems to be getting bigger by the day.  Once upon a time, there were more of these:

train tracks

train tracks

then these:

traffic lights

But it won’t be that way for long!  We are talking about a town where grocery stores stay open until 9pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, not just Wednesday - Friday!!!  (it wasn’t that way when I moved away for college back in 2002!)

Renfrew, it is great to be back and I look forward to not only teaching Alex the Renfrew way, but also showing Renfrew what MAAD Photography is all about!

P.S.  Here are some shots from around town:
